Andy Myers, aka the G-Man reports on Wildflower:

...off to the run after a 2:44 bike split (by far my fastest ever bike on a tough course, love those computrainer workouts!!!!!!) The program works, look at that bike split! That's almost what I did at Vineman last year, a much easier bike! Thanks,

Andy

Hi Michael,

I had a GREAT day on Saturday! Won my age group (yahoo!) and felt pretty good throughout the race. I think I applied most of your racing principles to good effect and had a lot of fun...... Overall impressions - I think I rode well and smart - I kept my heart rate right where it needed to be, the key to me getting faster will just be more work on the Computrainer.

Anyway, I'm happy and psyched to crank it up for the next 8 weeks before CDA!

See you tomorrow night,
Natalie

Mark McKee reports on 3rd in 45-49 age-group at Wildflower:

M2,

Going into the race I had no real expectations and while I felt fit I wasn't sure I was race sharp. However, the day unfolded nicely and I had a really great race, felt wonderful, and placed third in my age group making this a very special race. After a very strong bike I felt great on the run, 43 minutes, and was super pleased that not one person passed me. I can tell my arm movement is much stronger from the egrips....

Further examination shows that this Wildflower really did turn out nicely. This was my 10th year in a row competing in the Olympic distance race. My overall time was a PR by 30 seconds and I had a bike PR by 1 minute, it was also my second fastest run. As you can imagine, the past 3 years of track and spin have moved me up a notch (like 10+ minutes net

The best part is that I am not sore, which I can't explain. I did the active recovery swim in the bay yesterday, a 90 minute massage last night and a 90 minute yoga class this morning. I did drink the Champion pre-race meal stuff and liked it much better than food before the race.

See you at track.

Mark
